While they may not like to work together, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier have successfully broken a Disney+ record.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier had a tough act to follow, as it was released two weeks after the conclusion of WandaVision. Still, the Disney Plus show has stolen the hearts of fans and critics alike with a strong premiere, littered with a number of great moments and Easter Eggs that will be sure to excite Marvel Cinematic Universe fans.

However, while the premiere of the six-episode miniseries was fantastic, it has also broken records for the streaming service. According to Disney, the show’s premiere is now the most-watched premiere globally in the streaming service’s history with record-breaking numbers turning into it over its opening weekend.

While Disney didn’t provide exact viewership numbers over the three-day period, the company did mention that the series is followed by WandaVision and The Mandalorian season 2 premieres as the service’s top three most-viewed premieres.

This is a monumental achievement for both the service and Marvel, with the MCU additions to the streaming service providing Disney+ with a boost in viewership. SambaTV also reported that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier topped WandaVision’s series premiere, with 1.7 million households watching the exploits of Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes.

The series stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson a.k.a. The Falcon and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes a.k.a. The Winter Soldier, as the pair come together to take on their enemies and honor the legacy of Steve Rogers. It deals with the lives of the pair after the Blip and the events of Avengers: Endgame, with Falcon deciding whether to wield the shield and carry the burden of being the new Captain America.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier episode 1 is now streaming on Disney+, with episodes releasing weekly every Friday.
