Ranking of Marvel characters based on dateability – 8. Phil Coulson

There are not many individuals who can say that they were an integral part of bringing the Avengers together. And yet, that is something that we can say about Agent turned Director Phil Coulson.

Phil Coulson is the ultimate character within the MCU. He has no powers in the superhero sense and yet it is his honor, integrity, and determination to save the world that has us all wanting to follow him into battle.

While his story was technically cut short, at least within the movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that doesn’t mean we can forget what he brings to the table. This is a man who has dedicated his life to protecting and saving others. And who wouldn’t want to date a man like that?

He is honest, down to Earth, and pretty much one of the best men around. Coulson is the perfect counterpoint to Nick Fury. In fact, I would say that he is a good influence on the other man, and helps soften some of his rougher edges.

It’s hard to deny that Phil Coulson is a good man, and he is the kind of man you can take home to mom, dad, your grandparents, and every single judgemental member of your family without ever having to worry about what will happen. He is just that good at being a good person.  (It’s frankly almost annoying because there has to be something wrong with him.)
