Here are some interesting facts about Sam Wilson from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is still going hard after three episodes. The action has been every bit as superb as a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. But you can get action almost anywhere, what keeps viewers coming back is the content. In this case, that’s especially true concerning Sam Wilson.

We’ve continuously seen how hard it is for Sam. Whether it’s not getting help from the bank or being profiled by the police for being black, Sam is being treated unfairly. This is despite being a military veteran, Avenger and helping to save the universe. And then there’s finding out that there was a black Super Soldier that he never knew about.

This may be one of the few situations where the MCU interpretation of a character may be even stronger than the comic book version – especially in costume. Despite that, there are some things that happened in the comic book that make Falcon a really interesting character.

7. Red Skull is the reason Sam met Cap

This fact will never stop being funny. Red Skull took over Captain America’s body in an attempt to further his evil shenanigans (shocking, right?). While Steve Rogers was using another body, he helped train Sam Wilson to become Falcon – a mistake that has to haunt Red Skull.

He’s the reason that Steve Rogers has Sam in his life. Without this happening, these two heroes never would have met, Sam may not have become an Avenger and who knows how that would have affected the future of the Marvel universe. So, thanks?
