Captain America 4 is on the horizon and here’s everything you need to know about it.
With the end of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier upon us, fans’ attention now turns to what the future holds for the two titular characters. While it’s still unclear if there will be a second season of the series, now titled Captain America and the Winter Soldier, we know that at least one of the characters will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It was recently confirmed that Marvel Studios is currently developing a fourth Captain America movie and the news of the MCU movie’s development broke on the very same day that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier‘s finale was released. Naturally, Anthony Mackie is expected to reprise his role.
Below, you’ll find all the up-to-date information you need about Captain America 4, its release date, its cast, any trailers and more.
Captain America 4 release date
It’s not yet known when Captain America 4 will hit theaters. As the film has only just been announced, it will take some time before it even enters into production.
With that in mind, it probably won’t be released in theaters until 2023 at the very earliest but it could still be sometime after that.
Captain America 4 cast
The cast of Captain America 4 has yet to be revealed. That being said, the timing of the announcement means that it’s pretty likely that Anthony Mackie will be returning from previous films to reprise his role as Sam Wilson. This time, however, Sam will likely be the lead as the character has officially become Captain America.
Another name that fans are wondering if they’ll see is Chris Evans who portrayed the original Captain America, Steve Rogers. While he won’t be playing the titular character anymore, he may make an apperance as the aged Steve Rogers we saw in Avengers: Endgame.
Previous Captain America movies have established that Cap always needs his Bucky, so don’t be too surprised if we see Sebastian Stan return as Bucky Barnes. Moreover, there’s also a chance that other Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Danny Ramirez could return to their respective roles as Sharon Carter, John Walker, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine and Joaquin Torres.
Captain America 4 trailer
As Captain America 4 has only just been announced, there won’t be an official trailer released for quite some time. Filming would need to take place for that to happen, so don’t be expecting a trailer for some time yet.
In the meantime, why not revisit the journey that brought our new Captain America to this point by watching the trailer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
What is Captain America 4 about?
As this will be the fourth Captain America movie, it will obviously take place after the events of the previous three and Avengers: Endgame. However, it will likely be more directly influenced by the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. With that in mind, don’t be surprised if it carries on some of the loose ends that the series didn’t wrap up.
