Robert Downey Jr. will always be revered as Iron Man no matter what, and he absolutely killed it as Tony Stark in the MCU. But before he suited up in the 2008 film to start his heroic run as the savior of the Infinity Saga, the character began his journey to cinema stardom, stopping off on the small screen in 1994 with his own animated series running all the way to 1996.
The series created by Stan Lee and Larry Bieber ran for two stellar seasons consisting of 26 entries of action-packed Marvel fun. In the story, Iron Man would stake on an assortment of villains such as the Justin Hammer, Mandarin, MODOK, Ultimo, Stilt-Man, and more with appearances by such other notable names as War Machine, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Woman, and Hawkeye, just to name a few.
The show was initially part of The Marvel Action Hour, which aired with an episode of The Fantastic Four, making it the happening place to be for Marvel fans at the time. There is no denying that this animated outing is something MCU fans should have at the top of their watch list moving forward on Disney Plus if they hadn’t already, and it should be revered as a solid Marvel animated show compared to all the rest.
