This Monday, The CW’s Black Lightning season 4 returns with episode 10 of its final season. It’s been a hard-hitting season so far and the Arrowverse show’s season is closing in on the finale.
Tobias Whale has been kicking the heroes of Freeland’s butts all season. Instead of his normal route of attack, he’s been going after Jefferson (a.k.a. Black Lightning) and company at every angle possible. He’s caused dissension in the Pierce family and ruined their credibility in the community. His most recent move hit Black Lightning, Blackbird, Grace, and Lightning as heroes because, at the end of episode 9, Tobias used a device to take away their powers.

Black Lightning and his team will immediately have to deal with not having powers. Blackbird (Anissa Pierce) was about to get hit by a car, Black Lightning was losing his fight with Ishmael and now seemingly has no way of escaping. Worst of all, Lightning (Jennifer Pierce) was falling from the sky at a height that could kill her before she even hits the ground. Each of these situations could mean death for the heroes of Black Lightning. We may think they’ll all make it out alive, but there’s no guarantee. One of them may die. At the very least, someone is going to the hospital, right?
The only person we don’t know about is Khalil. His return could be the thing that saves Black Lightning from being killed by Ishmael. If he doesn’t save Jefferson, he’s still going to have an impact on what happens in this episode. Khalil/Painkiller could be the one that turns the tide against Tobias. Considering that he may have a spinoff coming, it makes sense. The more good exposure the better.
