Reign’s Sara Garcia has been cast in the role of Alexa Rivera aka Fuerza the Strength Force conduit on The Flash season 7.

The Flash season 7 returned from a brief hiatus this week, picking up from the seventh episode – which concluded with Frost surrendering to the authorities and Barry Allen looking to take the fight to the otherworldly Sage, Still and Strength Forces (with the aid of the Speed Force itself in the form of his mother Nora Allen).

The returning episode, “The People v. Killer Frost”, saw Barry Allen come face to face with the woman who could be this season’s biggest threat.

Who is Alexa Rivera on The Flash season 7?

TVLine recently revealed that Sara Garcia, had been cast as Alexa Rivera. And she debuted in this week’s installment of the Arrowverse show as Barry Allen crossed paths with her. Now what makes this introduction significant is that this is Fuerza’s human alter-ego and she’s inspired by Alexa Antigone in the comics.

Garcia’s Alexa is obviously a much friendlier face than that of Fuerza’s, but can the Red Streak find a way of gathering all of the Forces together – including Fuerza – and find a way for each them to co-exist?

The show’s current arc, nicknamed Graphic Novel No. 3, really kicked off with the first appearance of the hulking Fuerza as she overpowered both Flash and the recurring villain Abra Kadabra – killing the 64th-century time-traveler in the process. And this brief showdown proved that she was the biggest threat of the Forces.

The Flash season 7 stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Nicolet, Michelle Harrison, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin, Brandon McKnight and Kayla Compton.

Eric Wallace serves as showrunner and is executive producer alongside Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter. Bonanza Productions Inc. and Berlanti Productions produce the series in association with Warner Bros. Television.

The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8.00 p.m. ET on The CW.
