Batwoman season 2 continues to make Gotham larger as [Spoiler] is now making her way into the picture.

As revealed in a promo photo from Entertainment Weekly, Stephanie Brown, aka Spoiler, aka Robin, aka Batgirl, is now making her way onto this week’s episode of Batwoman. Stephanie will be played by Morgan Kohan who, a bit ironically, looks more like another Batgirl, Barbara Gordon, than she does Stephanie, but honestly, that’s not a big deal.

The episode will also feature the villain Cluemaster, Stephanie’s father, which is more than likely how she will feature into the episode.

Who is Batwoman’s Stephanie Brown in DC Comics?

Over the course of her 29-year existence in the comics, Stephanie has become a fan-favorite character of many, including this writer. Starting out with the identity Spoiler, Stephanie was a key supporting cast member for Tim Drake’s tenure as Robin, with whom she was also romantically involved with in an on-and-off basis. Eventually, she became Robin herself, a time which also led to her supposed death (she wasn’t actually dead, just had her death faked).

After a few more years, when Cassandra Cain gives up the title of Batgirl, she takes on the mantle, becoming the fifth Batgirl. After the DC Universe rebooted, Stephanie didn’t appear until the Batman Eternal series, where she was now at the beginning of her crime-fighting career again and went by Spoiler once more – a mantle she continues to hold.

As for how Batwoman will use her, it can be assumed that the show won’t be the most comic-accurate just from the picture that has been released, which is totally fine. Just based on the picture, it seems like this version is taking inspiration from the film Memento, as it seems her entire body is covered in clues. Hopefully though, Stephanie’s debut Arrowverse appearance in this episode isn’t just a one-off and she begins to make more regular appearances.
