Hulk vs Avengers, Storm’s shock exit and 5 jaw-dropping comic book moments you need to see
By Mark Lynch
Batman may have a new tech source, Hulk and his mystery partner versus the Avengers and more important comic book moments from this past week!
Last month, there were a lot of important comic book moments. Robin (Damian Wayne) got too big for his britches and had his heart ripped out, Loki dubbed Donald Blake the new God of lies after almost killing a bunch of Asgardians and former Thors and Barabra Gordon may not be Batgirl much longer.
This week, however, was also full of some really memorable comic book moments – starting May off right. With that in mind, here are the five most important comic book moments that you should know about. Let’s start with America Chavez.
5. America Chavez isn’t from an alternate universe
Comic book: America Chavez: Made in the U.S.A. No. 11
America Chavez’s powers have been on the fritz. In the first two issues of her series, it seemed like there was someone behind this. In this issue, however, we find out that theory is wrong. She’s actually suffering from a disease inside of her that’s taking her powers away and also killing her. Later, we discover that America has a sister – she’s been the one chasing her and neither of them are from the Utopian Parallel. Apparently it doesn’t even exist.
Why is this important?
America not being from the Parallel Utopia is a bit of a letdown. It was cool that she was born in a place of all women that developed a perfect society but finding out that she got her powers because her parents experimented on her seems like a copout. However, this is only issue No. 3 of 5. All of that could change. This writer may look at this as a better version of America’s origin story.
