2. Trai Byers

If you want to talk about an actor who looks the part, then we have to talk about Trai Byers. The actor has 11 acting credits under his belt and his name will ring a bell for those who watched Fox’s hit series Empire – in which Byers played the eldest son of Cookie and Lucious Lyon. If you haven’t seen the show, Byers stole every scene he was in – and that’s saying something given the company he was in with Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard.

Byers’ powerful voice and presence were evident with each line he delivered. The 37-year-old actor not only sounds like a hero, but he looks the part at 6-2 — similar to Henry Cavill. While Empire showed how excellent he was in terms of delivering drama, it also showed his versatility. His character, Andre, suffered from bipolar disorder allowing Byers to flex his acting chops. We saw him rage, cry, joke, and smile.

Byers recently got the chance to show his heroic side in the historical drama The 24th – in which he played Boston in the film set in 1917 during the Houston riots The film follows the all-black Twenty-Fourth United States Infantry Regiment, telling their story by depicting some of the traumatic events that really happened.

Byers also served as a producer on the movie and co-wrote the script for it too, meaning that he could offer more than just his acting talents to the Superman reboot.
