Robot to Rudy
Robot cloned himself much later in the comic book series than he did in the show. That meant that there were already major changes to Mark and Debbie’s lives, such as the fact that the former was already out of high school, and so much more.
This is another situation in which the timeline for a character was sped up on the TV series. And, again, it worked out. Rudy is going to become one of the four or five most important characters in this series. For this to happen, his evolution had to happen so quickly. This writer didn’t expect it to start in season 1 – let alone in the first few episodes with the Mauler Twins escaping. Nevertheless, it happened and it worked.
Who knows, next season may have things happen even faster.
Damien Darkblood gets an upgrade
In the show, he knew that Omni-Man was responsible for the death of the Guardians of the Globe almost immediately. In the comic, however, he had no clue. When he came to break the news, a receptionist laughed because he was the last one to find out Omni-Man killed the team.
The truth is that in the Invincible comic book, Damien Darkblood was useless. He was a joke that no one respected. But the series changed that and it’s a change that made the character better in every way. After all, he was voiced by Clancy Brown. Can’t make him sound like a fool – it wouldn’t work!
