5. Is Mr. Freeze behind cheerdrops
Comic book: Batman Urban Legends No. 3
Jason Todd has been chasing down leads to get a drug called Cheerdrops off the street – a journey that ends up with him killing a drug dealer. Obviously, Batman isn’t happy about Jason killing in Gotham so, after he finds him, he talks the former Robin into working with him to get the distributor. When the sun rises, however, Batman decides to rest and try again at night while Jason continues his investigation. The latter gets a lead on where the drugs are coming from and that lead ends with him frozen in place courtesy of Mr. Freeze.
Why is this important?
Victor Fries isn’t someone you would think would get into the drug game. His entire goal has been to cure his wife Nora so this seems really out of character for him. Does this mean that Mr. Freeze is becoming a new kind of villain? It could be a good thing if people allow the change.
Maybe he hasn’t changed though. This could be a way for him to fund his experiments. Perhaps the drug money goes to the equipment needed for them. Or, maybe he’s running tests on those who use the drugs and seeing how they ultimately affect them.
Regardless of the reason, Jason Todd is in imminent danger because this could be a new and more dangerous Victor Fries.
