Comic book: X-Corp No. 1
The mutants of Krakoa haven’t stopped with their own island nation and plants that will extend the lives of humans all over the world. They are, as it says in page five of X-Corps, “ready to expand into other areas of business.” But before their official launch, shenanigans ensued.
First, mutant Trinary discovered malware demanding money. How much or else what? No one knows. Jamie Madrox’s base was bombed, destroying a week’s worth of research and killing a bunch of his duplicates. And while all of this is going on, Warren Worthington was stuck dealing with someone threatening to end X-Corp before they can get started. The funny thing is everything worked out. In the end, they received press by unveiling their flying X-Corporation headquarters.
Why this is important?
Krakoa moving into the business part of the world is huge. There will undoubtedly be people all over the world that will try and shut this down. To them, it’s bad enough that mutants are in pharmaceuticals and opening hospitals (check out Marauders for details) but the fact that they’re now getting into something that could make them even richer and more powerful probably won’t sit well with the corrupt, rich and powerful.
Both Monet and Warren Worthington have bad sides to them. Monet’s side, Penance, isn’t easily held back when she’s angry. Warren may have kept it together now, but Archangel isn’t to be tested. He can – and will – lose it and become Death. What happens with their personalities in the future will be exciting. Don’t be shocked if Archangel and Penance get it on.
