Greatest comic book characters – 10. Tony Stark/Iron Man

First comic book appearance:

We know the Marvel Cinematic Universe wouldn’t have survived without Robert Downey Jr. and Iron Man. The same can be said for comic books as well. He helped give Marvel Comics a different look during Civil War by reminding us that even heroes can be villains. He went from being everyone’s favorite Avenger to the most hated person in comics,

Being despised helped him grow as a character. He became more aware of his arrogance and learned to listen. Well, listen more. Tony will always think he knows better than everyone. It’s the disadvantage of being a futurist. He can see how some things will play out. This writer still can’t tell if that’s arrogance or genius.

Greatest comic book characters – 9. Doctor Doom

First comic book appearance: Fantastic Four No. 5

To call Doctor Victor von Doom a villain is an oversimplification of who and what he is. Doom truly feels like he knows better than everyone. He’s gone as far as to travel to other universes to prove himself correct. It actually worked on the Panther God (Doomwar). They saw him as worthy and allied him to live.

Doom knows science as well as magic. Most scientists won’t acknowledge that there’s a difference. Doom understands the necessity of both. It’s one of the many things that’s kept him powerful. He doesn’t limit himself.

When Victor was Iron Man, he showed the world how dangerous he truly is. He was defeating villains and making it look easy. They’re lucky he’s back to his old ways. He could have got rid of them all. Makes you wonder if Doom is actually right.
