Greatest comic book characters –  92. Frank Castle

First comic book appearance: The Amazing Spider-Man No.129

Frank Castle may be the most dangerous person in comic books without powers. Batman is a better fighter, but the Punisher is something different. He’s a force of nature who goes beyond what Batman will do. His killing isn’t what puts him on this list. It’s his underrated planning that does it.

Plenty of regular and metahumans have underestimated Frank Castle. They’ve quickly learned that was a mistake. He’s beaten Daredevil, Wolverine, and Deadpool. Outsmarted Black Widow, Iron Man, and Captain America. He’s been thrown in prisons all over the world and managed to break out. Simply put, Frank Castle is just a different kind of amazing anti-hero.

Greatest comic book characters – 91. Clint Barton

First comic book appearance: Tales of Suspense No. 57

Clint Barton has gone through a few changes over the years. He’s been Hawkeye, Goliath, and Ronin. He was an Avenger, leader of the Thunderbolts, and a Defender.  However, none of them may have been as great as his recent journey. Protecting the everyday person.

Sure, being a member of the Avengers is important. That said, Clint’s time saving the people of his community seems to be his true calling. He’s excelled at being the person that people can always depend on. He’s still gone on a few missions that have taken him to strange places. That will never change. But his current job is where he’s best suited.
