The series finale of Black Lightning arrives on May 24. Four seasons of content has led us to this. In the beginning of the series, we saw Tobias Whale killing Jefferson Pierce’s father as the future hero hid under the bed and watched.
The penultimate episode of season 4 showed another fight; this one between Tobias and Jefferson. What made sure that this one was different from the others was the fact that it happened exactly where Jefferson’s father was killed. And in a tragic moment, Tobias beat Jefferson to death. To rub salt in the wound, he then sent Jennifer a picture of her father dead and on the floor.
Black Lightning isn’t dead
Let’s be honest, there’s no way Jefferson is dead. If this series doesn’t conclude with Black Lighting defeating Tobias, the entire series would have been a waste. It has to end with Jefferson getting absolution for watching Tobias kill his father and tormenting the Pierce family.
There are two likely scenarios that will explain his resurrection. First, Jefferson wasn’t actually dead. Villains love to not make sure their opponent is dead; their arrogance usually always gets in their way. Or, if Jefferson really was dead, perhaps his powers will kick in, shocking his heart and bringing him back to life. No matter the reason, we will see Jefferson back in his costume to save the day. He must be the one who puts an end to Tobias’ plans.
