Taskmaster

Taskmaster may be what this writer is the most excited for in Black Widow. First, we have the mystery behind the character. No one knows anything about him and there are so many theories about him, something claiming that Yelena Belova or Clint Barton is behind that mask and others speculating that his origin stays close to the comic books. He could be one of these or he could be none of them. Marvel has a tendency to show us things and make us think we know what’s going on, then prove us wrong.

The most exciting aspect is seeing what he can do. We know that he has all of the Avengers’ fighting styles down, but what else can he do? We could see Taskmaster use fighting styles from Iron Fist, Muhammad Ali, or Bruce Lee. Or, maybe he can drive like a NASCAR driver. It’s almost a guarantee that Taskmaster is going to do something that we haven’t seen in the trailers.

David Harbour as Red Guardian

David Harbour fits perfectly in the role of Red Guardian. On one hand he’s a former Russian superhero. On the other, he’s old, plump, and retired. That was all we knew until the next trailer dropped. We knew he had daughters, but now we know he’s a protector of two little boys as well.

We’ve seen Harbour be a father figure, fighter, and goofball in Stranger Things. Since he was phenomenal in that, there’s no reason to think he won’t be just as good here.
