11 major Marvel and DC comic book moments fans should know about (May)
By Mark Lynch
3. Connection to a crime
Comic book: Detective Comics No. 1036
Batman has been searching for the person who murdered his friend. While looking for her, he comes across Lady Clayface who claims that she saw Sarah and a man who told her to kneel. What she really said was the name “Neil”.
Later, we see Neil approaching another person in Bruce’s neighborhood named Lydia. Neil again appears again dead with blood on his hands. But it isn’t his blood, it’s Lydia’s.
The preview of the next issue teases “Bruce Wayne under suspicion.” Since he was the last person to see Lydia alive and she accused him of holding Sarah captive, he would be the obvious suspect.
2. Dr. Doom switches bodies with Rocket Raccoon
Comic book: Guardians of the Galaxy No. 14
After Dr. Doom took over Hulkling’s body, Moondragon found a way to give it back to him. But she also did something else. She transferred Doom’s consciousness into Rocket’s body and vice versa. This wasn’t just a funny moment. No, there is much more to it than that.
In order for Doom to get his body back, he has to help the heroes. As a result, the issue ends with Star-Lord welcoming Dr. Doom to the Guardians of the Galaxy.
1. Rules of the tournament
Comic book: Robin No. 2
Damian Wayne had his heart ripped out of his chest in Robin No. 1. No one should be shocked that he came back in the first pages of the next issue. Besides being the star of the comic book, the name of the island the tournament takes place on is called Lazarus Island.
When he comes to, Ravager explains the rules. You get three deaths. If you die a third time, your soul leaves you forever. This makes you wonder if this is how we get a different Robin – someone who doesn’t care about killing. Well, even less so than he normally does.
