Ms. Marvel is not coming to Disney Plus in Summer 2021
Ms. Marvel is one of Disney Plus’ most anticipated new shows. Unfortunately, it’s going to be some time before it hits TV screens.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe took a quick break from dominating the big screen so that it could dominate the small one. And dominate it did as MCU-set shows WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier ensured that Disney Plus was the most talked-about streaming platform all year.
It will look to do so again with Ms. Marvel in the near-future. However, it seems that the show won’t be making its presence felt on the streamer for the foreseeable.
During February’s Disney Plus Winter Television Critics Association presentation, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige unveiled the release dates for shows such as Loki (which was subsequently moved forward by two days and will now arrive on June 9). After that, it was confirmed that the long-awaited movie Black Widow would arrive on the streamer’s Premier Access as well as in movie theaters on July 9.
After opening the year with the back-to-back successes of WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Disney Plus looks set to recreate that success in the summer with Loki and Black Widow. So where does that leave Ms. Marvel – a show that we know is coming this year.
Ms. Marvel release date
Ms. Marvel will be released in the fourth quarter of 2021. While no exact date has been specified, the show is listed as coming in “late 2021” on the official Marvel website’s show page.
With that in mind, we should expect it to premiere sometime in October or November 2021, allowing it have six weeks to run all of its episodes before the holiday season. Whether or not it streams parallel to Disney+’s typical fall show The Mandalorian remains to be seen.
Recent set photos gave us all our first look at Iman Vellani in Kamala Khan’s signature costume and it’s safe to say that it made fans even more excited for what’s to come from Ms. Marvel.
