Riverdale season 5, part 2 is not coming to The CW in June 2021

Riverdale season 5, part 2 arrives in the summer but fans of the show will have to wait a little while longer for its return.

As we enter into a new month, some TV fans might once again find themselves wondering when Riverdale returns to screens. The CW’s unorthodox Archie Comics-inspired series has been a fixture of many viewers’ lives since its debut back in 2017 and it did recently return for its fifth season earlier this year. But it hasn’t enjoyed as uninterrupted a run as other shows in its genre have.

The show was one of the earliest American shows to return this year, with the fifth season marking the first time it had been on screens since May 2020. That season would take the long-running series into new territory as it essentially rebooted the show three episodes in, launching the story that was initially expected to open the season (before the production shutdown of 2020 prevented season 4 from finishing). A number of weeks later, however, it took an extended hiatus and has yet to return to screens.

The CW recently released its summer and fall schedules, confirming which shows will return and when they will air new episodes. Unfortunately, it also confirmed that Riverdale won’t be returning this month.

Riverdale season 5, part 2 release date

Riverdale season 5, part 2 is on The CW’s summer schedule because it’s set to return on August 11. That means that we still have to wait two months until it’s back. While the network had originally decided that the show would return in July, they have now delayed it until the following month.

The show will return with season 5, episode 11, “Chapter Eighty-Seven”, which will pick up where the previous episode left off, revealing the fate of Jughead Jones as the gang continue to investigate the dodgy dealings of Hiram Lodge and the unsettling Mothman mysteries.
