The first trailer for DC’s Stargirl season 2 has finally been unveiled and it features the arrival of Green Lantern’s daughter.

Stargirl was one of the best-received new shows of 2020. Originally a DC Universe series, it became an Arrowverse-adjacent property thanks to its weekly TV broadcasts on The CW. It hasn’t looked back since as it consistently drew high ratings for the network and received acclaim from fans and critics.

The second season is now exclusive to The CW and will make its presence felt on the network in August, as Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) and the JSA return for a new adventure in Blue Valley.

After much anticipation, the first full-length trailer for Stargirl season 2 has been released. Check it out below.

Released exclusively to Entertainment Weekly, the Stargirl season 2 trailer opens with Courtney attempting to convince her fellow heroes in the Justice Society of America to keep on fighting by her side even after the defeat of the Injustice Society. But the team don’t think there is any need to keep wearing their masks now that Blue Valley is safe.

The trailer also introduces us to Green Lantern’s daughter, Jade (Ysa Penarejo), who comes for the lantern and ends up battling Courtney in her own home. The reason for their altercation has not been revealed but it will no doubt be exciting to see the Cosmic Staff go up against the power of the Green Lantern.

Aside from that, the clip also showcases the arrival of Thunderbolt (Jim Gaffigan) and the returns of old threats Shade (Jonathan Cake) and Shiv (Meg DeLacy).

Stargirl season 2 premieres on The CW on Tuesday, August 10, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
