1. Loki Discovers his MCU journey

After being shown some of the original Loki’s MCU journey by Agent Mobius in an attempt to enlist him, the 2012 Loki decides to check out the rest of his pre-determined future. This includes the events of Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War, meaning that Loki witnesses his own redemption journey and understands that his vengeful actions led to the deaths of both his mother and father as well as a fractured relationship with brother Thor.

Loki also discovers that his death at the hands of Thanos was a noble act where he tried to protect his brother and the universe, leading to the God of Mischief questioning his life path now that he knows his future.

The view of a broken Loki is not one seen a lot throughout the course of the MCU, so seeing the God of Mischief come to terms with the fact that his actions cause pain, and that the path he was going down does not end well, was heartbreaking. However, it also means that Loki is likely to make sure that this future does not occur for him.

This moment, while compacting a lot of Loki’s redemption arc in one episode, also suggests that there is potential for this version of the character to either be reset or cause a multiversal conflict in order to save his loved ones, setting the stage for an interesting series.
