Sasha Calle is the next Girl of Steel and these new photos and video from The Flash give us our first look at her in the Supergirl costume.
The Girl of Steel is coming to the DCEU. Sasha Calle has been cast as Supergirl in Andy Muschietti’s The Flash, carrying on the character’s legacy that was reinvigorated by Melissa Benoist on the small screen.
Muschietti recently gave us our first look at the costume that Calle’s Kryptonian warrior will don in the movie, revealing that it will draw inspiration from the character’s comic book looks and the Arrowverse TV series while also paying homage to Henry Cavill’s Superman suit.
Now, however, a new set photo reveals Calle in action as the Girl of Steel.
Sasha Calle’s Supergirl takes flight in The Flash set video
UPDATE: A new set photo that appeared on Daily Mail has now given us our first full look at Sasha Calle’s Supergirl costume.
The photos that are making their way around the internet come from a new set video. The video in question features Sasha Calle in costume as Supergirl. Attached to a harness, she is levitating in mid-air. Once the scene commences filming, she is slowly lowered to the ground.
The Girl of Steel clearly descends from flight in this scene but it’s not clear who she’s looking at. Could she be standing against another hero or is there something else going on here entirely?
The footage does confirm that Calle will indeed be sporting her shorter black hair in the role and not sporting Kara Zor-El’s traditional long blonde hair, giving this Supergirl a look similar to that of Cir-El or Lara Lane-Kent – the latter of which sports a costume nearly identical to the one Calle is wearing.
The Flash is currently in production in the United Kingdom and it stars Ezra Miller as the Scarlet Speedster. Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck will reprise their roles as their respective iterations of Batman while Sasha Calle will bring the Girl of Steel back to the big screen for the first time in over 35 years.
