4. Just Loki

The Variant could just be another God of Mischief. It’s not as fun as the other theories, but it’s still a possibility. What’s funny is this actually may be the most unlikely of all the theories. Marvel Studios isn’t going to just throw another Loki into the mix, right? It’s not as intriguing. Having them be someone – or something – completely different is much more memorable.

There will undoubtedly be a twist to this one’s story within the next few episodes – one that will likely be something we all love.

3. Earth admirer

The name Loki is well known – especially in the magical circles. The part that is also known is that people tend to hate him. The God of Mischief and Lies has been rubbing magic-wielders up the wrong way for centuries. He does whatever he wants to whoever he wants. With that in mind, the Variant may have looked up to him until finding out that he isn’t what they thought he was – or maybe he rejected them. After that, they may have cursed his name. However, if they caused mischief in their reality, it could be a name that won’t leave them.

Or maybe they admire the chaos. The Variant may love everything that the God of Mischief is. They could see the kind of disruption he’s caused over the years and want to do the same. But maybe after going to their universe’s God of Mischief and being rejected, they have a new mission: Show the person they once admired what true chaos looks like. So far, they’re doing an admirable job.
