Is Green Lantern worth watching?

Listen – when the leading man of the movie makes fun of the film in his later superhero movies, you know this is not a movie to mess with. And don’t get me wrong, I don’t actually hate Green Lantern as much as some people do, but when it comes down to it, there are so many movies out there that there is no reason to watch something that doesn’t live up to its potential.

Beyond the fact that the graphics were not up to the level of current superhero movies, even the storyline felt weak with this movie. And while it could be considered a fun film, it’s not really worth watching in comparison to the wide variety of movies out there right now.

Honestly, I can’t wait until the DCEU dives into the Green Lantern comics for real so we can get a better representation of these characters. Considering there are actually quite a few Green Lanterns in the DC comics, there are so many directions they can go in and never rehash what was in this film.

Does it hurt to watch Green Lantern? Not really, especially if you are a Ryan Reynolds fan. But if you do decide to give this one a watch, make sure you go into it knowing this is not the best representation of a comic book superhero movie.

Verdict: Skip
