4. Loki Stalling the TVA

As mentioned previously, the partnership between the TVA and 2012’s Loki variant was always going to be an uneasy alliance. While Mobius has faith in the God of Mischief, the rest of the TVA agents were less than thrilled to be teaming up with him.

However, the other TVA agents may have been proven right when Loki gave them the work around. In true Tom Hiddleston comedic fashion, Loki uses an Asgardian saying about “where there are wolf’s ears, there are wolf’s teeth.” He uses this overexplained story to try and stall for time and convince Mobius and the TVA that The Variant was waiting to attack them.

Seeing Mobius support Loki showcases how trusting the character is, while the fact that he also figured out that it was a trick displays the research he has done on the man he has decided to enlist into his crusade. It was a moment that sets up the future betrayal from the God of Mischief very well, while also showing that, although Mobius is trusting, he is a good agent and knows what he is doing.

The back and forth between the pair has been one of the best parts of the series thus far, with this scene further showcasing the two characters trying to get one step ahead of the other.
