Best comic book movie moments: 74. Bat-Shark Repellent

Comic book movie: Batman: The Movie

Batman had a shark attached to his leg. Not a baby shark with no teeth. An actual adult shark. Any other person would lose their leg after something like that. Not Batman. He has a plan for everything. Including being bitten by a shark. How did the shark not bite his leg off? Who knows. What we do know is he had a way to get it off. He carries Bat-Shark Repellent. A spray that apparently makes sharks explode when they hit the water.

There isn’t a moment on this list more preposterous than this. Batman should’ve lost his leg. Never mind having a repellent to stave off a shark. Nonetheless, this became an iconic scene. It’s given birth to multiple jokes in movies and shows. Recently, Harley Quinn made fun of it when Batman used his Bat-Shark Repellent on King Shark. It was also used in All-Star Batman: My Own Worst Enemy.

Best comic book movie moments: 73. Getting rid of a bomb

Comic book movie: Batman: The Movie

Continuing the trend, we have the classic Adam West Batman: The Movie. You can say that Batman and Robin was absurd (and it was), but that wasn’t as bad as this.

Batman was literally running with a bomb for over two minutes. It wasn’t a technical bomb that needed wires cut. This was a cartoon-esc black bomb with a fuse. To make it funnier, Batman actually said, “Some days you just can’t get rid of a bomb.” There’s no way anyone watched this and didn’t laugh. Even in 1966.
