Best comic book movie moments: 66. I’ll cash her check in the morning.
Comic book movie: Sin City
This started off Sin City with a Film Noir scene with the narration and dark tone. The hints of color in the woman’s red dress and green eyes made this moment pop. It also gave it a more artistic feel. Setting the stage for what would be a one-of-a-kind project.
Josh Hartnett had a short, but crucial role in this movie. He was the first person to show what kind of film this would be. As a woman walks out of a classy function, Hartnett speaks to and about this woman as he loved her. Only to kill her in the end. He seemed to understand why she wanted to die and why she hired him to do it. He holds her close as she dies. As the scene ends he says, “I’ll cash her check in the morning.”
Best comic book movie moments: 65. Bane breaks Batman
Comic book movie: Dark Knight Rises
There aren’t many people who can say they beat Batman as badly as Bane did. Especially in the movies. He beat Batman like he was playing a video game on easy. It was embarrassing. But, Bane was right. All of his tricks meant nothing to him. If he was someone who laughed, he would have giggled whenever Batman pulled out a new weapon. In the end, he broke Bruce’s back and his spirit.
When comic book fans found out Bane was going to be in this movie, they wanted to know if he’d use the back-breaker. Not only did he use it, but he also dominated Batman. This was the way it had to be. Thankfully, this movie delivered on what the fans wanted from this fight.
