Best comic book movie moments: 48. Loki and Tony

Comic book movie: The Avengers

Loki’s plan was coming together. Earth’s heroes were fighting amongst themselves, Thor should be dead, and Thanos’ army of Chitauri was invading New York. He also had his palace (Stark Tower). When Tony arrived, he had to stall for time. All he had to do was keep Loki talking. Thankfully, that’s Loki’s favorite hobby.

This was a battle of words between the MCU’s two best speakers. Loki should have the advantage. He has centuries of experience. Except, Tony Stark is a wizard of wit. Loki was so frustrated that he was losing that he threw Stark out of a window.

We have to mention the way Tony described the team. He broke down why they’d win all while getting his new suit prepped. To end it with, “We have a Hulk.” is a phrase that no one will forget. It also became a very memeable scene.

Best comic book movie moments: 47. Swear to me

Comic book movie: Batman Begins

Bruce Wayne had been Batman long enough. Criminals and crooked cops started to be afraid of him. Batman exploited the fear of the latter to attempt to get information. The detective said he didn’t know anything. As soon as he said, “I swear to god.” Batman yelled, “Swear to me” and dropped him from high atop a building without killing him.

This scene was going to be ranked lower. The gravelly voice was silly and this was its origin. Then this writer thought about the significance. It’s one of the premier Batman moments in the Dark Knight Trilogy. This was where Bruce became Batman. Striking fear into the heart of man was no longer just a phrase. It was reality.
