Best comic book movie moments: 32. She’s not alone

Comic book movie: Avengers: Endgame

Spider-Man was holding onto the Infinity Gauntlet for dear life after Thanos called for his ship to rain fire. It looked like all of the heroes were down. Thankfully, we were wrong. Captain Marvel shows up and says that she’s got this. Peter looked concerned until the women of the MCU showed up. They reminded him that she wasn’t alone.

Okoye took out one of Thanos’ generals on her first strike. Wanda and Valkyrie took down the flying Leviathans. Rescue, Shuri, and the Wasp knocked Thanos back before he could attack Carol. That’s on top of the other women who were handling business in their own way. An incredibly powerful scene that showed a glimpse of how the women of the MCU are ready to take the main stage.

Best comic book movie moments: 31. My name is Magneto

Comic book movie: X-Men: Apocalypse

After trying to live a normal life, Magneto’s family was killed. Magneto knew who was responsible and went after them. He arrived and let each of them know that the pain he felt, his loved ones would soon know. When his former coworker said, “Henryk, please, don’t do this.” Erik corrected him. He said, “My name is Magento.”

This was heavy. Michael Fassbender completely obliterated this scene. He looked cold and heartbroken as he should have. He delivered this speech with the mastery of one of the best actors in the world. It’s too bad this movie isn’t looked at fondly. If it was, this would have been mentioned more often than not.
