Comic book movie: Logan

We saw that the little girl in Logan would be X-23. There were also scenes in the trailers that showed her fighting. None of that compares to actually seeing her in action. She was a buzzsaw of evisceration and dismemberment. Donald Pierce tried to act tough, but the terrified look on his face told a different story.

Sometimes previews don’t live up to the hype. This wasn’t the case. X-23’s introduction was everything we could have hoped for. She cut through all of her would-be assaulters easily. They’re lucky they got the drop on her. Had X-23and Logan been prepared, they wouldn’t have made it out alive.

Comic book movie: X-Men

Wolverine just finished having a brutal fight scene with Mystique. Before that, she confused Jean Grey and Scott by shape-shifting into Wolverine. After Wolverine won the fight, he comes across Jean and Cyclops who are understandably skeptical. Cyclops asks Logan to prove it’s him. Logan simply calls him a dick. Cyclops agrees it’s him and they move on.

This was brilliantly done. It established that there is a rivalry and some animosity between them. That emotion was the only way for Logan to prove it was him. It would have been nice to see more of this in the Marvel Fox universe.
