Loki episode 4 ending explained: Is [SPOILER] really dead?
Loki’s newest episode left viewers with even more questions than before but what does the ending of Episode 4 really mean?
Loki has made a habit of leaving its viewers perplexed with its amazing sequences and unpredictable storytelling. But if you’re familiar with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Tom Hiddleston’s trickster, you’ll know that the Disney Plus show’s epic twists and turns just comes with the territory.
The fourth episode recently arrived on the platform and ensured that viewers would be asking plenty of questions when the credits rolled once again. But what does it mean going forward?
Is Mobius really dead on Loki?
One of the two most jaw-dropping moments in Loki saw Agent Mobius M. Mobius killed when Ravonna Renslayer ordered him to be pruned by the TVA Agents.
Mobius finally trusted Loki when the God of Mischief finally decided to tell him the truth about the TVA Agents being Variants and that unfortunately resulted in his apparent demise. But have we seen the last of Owen Wilson’s beloved character?
It’s hard to tell if this is the last we’ve seen of Mobius. It was a truly shocking moment that really made Loki understand how ruthless the TVA can be in order to keep the people around them in-check and it also spurred him on to overthrow them. However, there is always a chance that the “pruned” aren’t actually dead. After all, look what happened to Loki.
What does the post-credit scene mean on Loki?
Loki himself suffered pruning at the hands of Renslayer in what was probably the episode’s most shocking moment. However, just as it seemed that he was set to join Mobius in the afterlife, he went, well, somewhere else. Yes, he awoke in an alternate dimension to find himself surrounded by what appears to be other Lokis (one of which was played by Richard E Grant).
Where did Loki go? Well, one of the Variants revealed that he wasn’t dead but that he would be unless he came with them. That doesn’t exactly answer where they are but it does mean that the God of Mischief has a fighting chance of returning to Sylvie.
As for Mobius, though, here’s hoping Loki can find a way to save him too!
Loki adds a new episode on Disney+ every Wednesday from 12:00 a.m. PT and 3:00 a.m. ET.
