Friends and enemies: Black Widow’s 10 most important Marvel relationships
By Mark Lynch
6. Yelena Belova
Yelena Belova falls under the enemy and teammate category. Yelena has been on the villain end of the spectrum by going up against the New Avengers. She once became a Super Adaptoid and died in the field.
In Widowmakers: Red Guardian and Yelena Belova, Yelena takes on a job to get someone out of prison. She doesn’t know if it’s a good or bad person; all she knows is that it’s work. This isn’t the mark of a good person but when she was given the opportunity to do the right thing, she ultimately did it.
There was a time when she was trying to prove that she’s better than Natasha and that she should be the one true Black Widow. Now, Yelena is currently working with Natasha. They’re now on a mission to stop a group from killing people by giving them unstable powers. The fact that Yelena goes by the new name White Widow may mean she’s over being Black Widow but let’s be honest, though, they’ll probably be fighting again at some point.
5. Nick Fury
Nick Fury isn’t a good person. That’s a fact. Regardless of the terrible things he’s done, however, Fury manages to keep people safe… by doing those atrocious things. Sometimes it’s at the expense of good heroes.
Natasha knows all about this and never judges him. This is why they get along so well. They both understand that they’re the ones who do the dirty work. Their job isn’t to be liked. No, they’re the ones that are around to make the decisions no one else is willing to.
