Loki: 5 best moments from “The Nexus Event”
By Liam Clark
2. Time-Keepers Revealed
Throughout the entirety of the series, the Time-Keepers have loomed large over the events that have occurred. Loki has been trying to have a meeting with the powerful entities, while Sylvie has yearned to destroy them. With Loki and Sylvie both imprisoned and facing death, they are brought forward to face the Time-Keepers who wish to witness the executions.
However, with some help from Hunter B-15, Sylvie and Loki are able to fight off the Minutemen and attack the Time-Keepers. However, when Sylvie manages to execute one of them by decapitating them, the pair discover that the Time-Keepers are secretly androids.
This leads to a variety of questions for the series going forward, such as who is running the TVA and what their goals may be. It is certain the answers to these questions will begin to unravel next episode as the TVA begins to fall apart.
1. More Loki Variants
As the episode concludes, fans should not turn off Disney+. The fourth episode has a crazy mid-credits scene, which reveals that the God of Mischief is still alive after being “pruned.” However, while the trickster seems to think he is in hell, an unknown voice reveals to him he is not dead, but he will be if he does not join them.
The camera switches to a group of four figures, who are Loki variants. These variants include Boastful Loki, Classic Loki, Kid Loki and Reptile Loki, with the reveal sure to cause some excitement for Marvel Comics fans. In the background there is also the glaring image of a destroyed Avengers Tower, hinting at a variant timeline where Loki won the battle of New York.
The Lokis seem to be against the clock in trying to help out the 2012 variant, leading to questions as to where they are and why the matter of escaping seems so urgent. As with the question about the Time-Keepers, this seems likely to be revealed in the upcoming episode, with the TVA looking set to collapse and the Lokis being right in the middle of all the mayhem like usual.
