Loki: What’s hidden in plain sight in episode 6

As the finale of Loki’s first season changes the cosmos of the MCU, old theories are confirmed as new ones are introduced…. as are lots of Easter Eggs.
If you’re going to have the season finale of a big-budget television series claiming it will “change the Marvel Universe” forever, you might as well pull out all the stops. In the case of “For All Time. Always.” the sixth and final episode of Loki’s first season, it held nothing back when it came to exposition. Neither did it skimp when it came to the ramifications for the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward. And it certainly didn’t shortchange viewers when it came to Easter Eggs and clues.
As a matter of fact, there was so many within the first minute alone, we’re not going to wait any longer. Get ready for lots and lots SPOILERS, as we’re going to jump right into it with…
All those Marvel-ous quotes
When the Marvel Studios logo appears at the finale of the Disney Plus show’s opener, we start to hear “It’s Been a Long, Long Time,” which, of course, is Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) and Peggy Carter’s song (Hayley Atwell). We also hear several echoes and distortions of voices from various Marvel Studios’ films and television series as we see what appears to be the time rewinding back towards the Big Bang then moving forward again at rapid speed and through a Black Hole and the Bifrost before arriving at the Citadel at the End of Time. And since we can’t have an Easter Egg article without Easter Eggs, those various voices we hear are:
- “Way to go, Tic-Tac!” Said by Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) to Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) in Captain America: Civil War (2016) when Scott becomes “Giant Man” during the Leipzig/Halle airport battle.
- “That’s how you punch.” Hope Van Dyne/Wasp’s (Evangeline Levy) one-liner to Scott Lang in Ant-Man (2015) when knocks him down during their sparing session.
- “Wakanda Forever!” The battle cry of Wakanda, shouted by T’Challa/Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) in Black Panther (2018) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018).
- “You wouldn’t have heard of me.” Scott Lang to Sam Wilson when they first met in Ant-Man.
- “Let me put you on hold.” What Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) tells Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) over a cellphone in Avengers (2012) right before she kicks some bad guy butt.
- “Dance-off, Bro.” What Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) explains to Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) he’s doing in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) to distract him.
- “He’s a friend from work.” Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in Thor: Ragnarok happily telling The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) how he knows the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) right as they’re about to throw down in the battle arena.
- “I can do this all day” “Yeah, I know.” The tit-for-tat between the alternate 2012 Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) and the present day Steve Rogers/Captain America before their fight in Avengers: Endgame (2019).
- “I’ll show you ferocity.” What Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) says after punching Martin Donovan (Mitchell Carson) in Ant-Man after Pym is fired from his own company for refusing to give SHIELD access to Pym Particles.
- “Higher, further, faster, baby” What Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel says to Maria Lambeau (Lashana Lynch) in Captain Marvel (2019) right before Carol’s fateful test flight.
- “We have a Hulk.” Loki’s boast to Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Infinity War (2018), echoing what Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) boasted to him in Avengers.
- “We’re gonna jump on that spaceship and get out of here. Wanna come?” What Korg (Taika Waititi) says to Loki in Thor: Ragnarok just before leaving Skarr for Asgard.
- “What’s a raccoon?” Asked by Rocket (Bradley Cooper) when Peter Quill calls him that in Guardians of the Galaxy.
- “Who the hell is Bucky?” Said by Bucky Barnes to Steve Rogers in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) when he was still the Winter Soldier.
- “I have part of a plan!” What Peter Quill tells Rocket in Guardians of the Galaxy when the Guardians argue about how to stop Ronan from invading Xandar.
- “Nick Fury…” Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) introducing himself to Tony Stark in the Iron Man (2008) post-credits scene.
- “I have red in my ledger, I’d like to wipe it out.” What Natasha says to an imprisoned Loki in Avengers.
- “Puny god.” Said by the Hulk after laying the smackdown on Loki in Avengers.
- “Dormammu, I’ve come to bargain.” Said by Dr. Steven Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to Dormammu (Benedict Cumberbatch) multiple times via their time looped conversation in Doctor Strange (2016).
- “This is war.” What Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) says to Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel.
- “I was born yesterday.” What Vision (Paul Bettany) says to Ultron (James Spader) in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).
- “You’re big. I fought bigger.” A depowered Thor’s boast to a SHIELD agent when attempting to retrieve Mjolnir in Thor (2011).
- “Kick names, take ass.” What Mantis (Pom Klementieff) says they’ll do to Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.
- “There was an idea.” Fury explaining the purpose behind the Avengers to Tony Stark in Avengers.
- “You are an Avenger.” Part of Clint Barton/Hawkeye’s motivational speech to Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch during the attack on Sokovia in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
- “You will never be a god.” Loki’s last words from Avengers: Infinity War right before Thanos kills him.
- “That’s my secret, Captain. I’m always angry.” What Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) tells Steve Rogers right before turning into the Hulk during the Battle of New York in Avengers.
- “Avengers…Assemble!” The Avengers battle cry said by Steve Rogers in Avengers: Endgame (2019).
- “You sent my suit through the mail?!” Said by an incredulous Dr. Pym to Scott Lang in Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018).
- “Another broken white boy for us to fix.” Shuri’s (Letitia Wright) reaction on seeing a severely wounded Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman) in Black Panther.
- “Time is the true enemy of us all.” Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen) explaining his villainous motivations to Dr. Strange in Doctor Strange.
- “Glorious Purpose!” The last words of Classic Loki (Richard E. Grant) from episode 5 of Loki.
- “What is grief if not love persevering?” What Vision says to Wanda in a flashback from WandaVision, episode 8.
- “Open your eyes!” What Sylvie says to Loki after enchanting Alioth in Loki, episode 5.
We also hear sounds of Iron Man’s repulsor blast, Hulk’s roar, Spider-Man’s web-shooters, Mjolnir being summoned, Cap throwing his shield, and Loki’s cries as an infant during a flashback to his origins in Thor.
