Will Loki air a new bonus episode today, July 21?

Loki has been streaming new episodes on Disney Plus every Wednesday. But can we expect a new one this week?

Like anything Marvel Studios releases, Loki had the whole world talking about it throughout its entire six-episode run.

The Disney Plus series brought Tom Hiddleston’s beloved trickster back to screens as the God of Mischief was given a second chance at life when he accidentally checked out of his planned future by grabbing the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame. While that saved him from eventual death at the hands of Thanos, it also prevented him from achieving the redemption that he did when he and his brother, Thor, found their way to loving each other again.

Loki got that second chance at redemption when he crossed paths with Sylvie, a female variant of himself, and the pair decided to take down the corrupt Time Variance Authority (with the help of his new friend Agent Mobius M. Mobius).

The show was another huge success for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s also the only one of the Disney Plus shows to thus far receive a guaranteed second season order.

Is Loki new today, July 21?

Unfortunately, Loki will not be airing a new episode this Wednesday. While that day is indeed its usual time to unveil new episodes, there has been a change to the schedule because the show’s first season has concluded its run on Disney Plus. Its season 1 finale, “For All Time. Always.“, premiered last week and it saw Loki and Sylvie face off against the person responsible for the creation of the TVA.

Of course, rumors have been making their presence felt online in regards to when the show will return but, just like with WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, we shouldn’t expect any possible bonus episodes.

When does Loki return to Disney Plus?

Loki will return for a second season – that much is certain. The news was confirmed last week after the season finale premiered on the Disney+ streaming service. What we don’t know is when the show will return to screens.

Rumor has it that the Tom Hiddleston-led drama will begin shooting its second season in January 2022, meaning that the earliest possible release date is likely fall 2022.

In the meantime, be sure to check out Marvel’s What If…?  (which arrives next month) and Ms. Marvel and Hawkeye which are both due out later this year.
