The Flash season 8, episode 1 release date: When does the show return?

The Flash season 8 will make its presence felt on our screens later this year. But when exactly can we expect the Scarlet Speedster to return?

The Flash made a comeback to screens earlier this year when its seventh season kicked off on The CW. It had been a long road getting there, with the delays having kept it off screens for almost a year, but the S.T.A.R. Labs crew of the Arrowverse returned in March for their seventh adventure.

Season 7 was a divisive one for fans of the show, with the first of its two graphic novels (third if you count the remainder of the previous season’s story) receiving quite a bit of criticism for its confusing narrative. Its second fared much better as Godspeed’s arrival was met with so much praise that it left most fans wondering why the show only spent four episodes on the story everyone had been waiting for.

Nonetheless, it was another compelling adventure for the folks in Central City, taking the story in some interesting directions. And its finale set the stage for another interesting adventure in season 8.

However, when can we expect that next adventure to take form?

When does The Flash season 8 come out?

The Flash season 8 premieres on Tuesday, November 16, at 8:00 p.m. ET. The show was renewed for its eighth season back in February before it even began airing its seventh. That’s obviously an indicator of how much faith The CW has in not just it but the majority of its programming as it did the same with Legends of Tomorrow and other shows which had just begun their current runs.

There has been talk among fans as to whether or not season 8 will mark the show’s final chapter but that has yet to be confirmed by the network. And since production is about to begin soon, it’s looking unlikely that this will be the case. Though they could always announce it when it does begin shooting.

Season 8 will kick off with a “five-episode-event” that might feature a number of crossovers before the show continues its run in early 2022.
