Could Miles Morales be headed to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? It’s entirely possible as search results for the Marvel character have been growing.

Google Trends reveals that over the last year, the search results have magnified tenfold. Moreover, that makes us wonder if he’ll pop up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Well, there have been some indications that he will appear… eventually.

Let’s jump back to 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming where Tom Holland’s Peter Parker bumps into criminal Aaron Davis aka Prowler (Donald Glover). There were two scenes shot but only one ended up in the final edit. The first one is a casual mention of Miles when Davis mentions that he has a nephew living in New York.

The second scene was cut for time where Davis drops his keys and can’t reach them. Upon realizing that Peter’s webbing wasn’t going to dissolve quickly, he calls his nephew and actually addresses him as ‘Miles’ and tells him he won’t be able to join his appointment.

According to the Prowler page on the Marvel Cinematic Universe Fandom, this scene is still canon.

So, Miles already exists in the MCU, but he has yet to show up in the multimillion-dollar franchise. Let’s not forget that Miles has a page alongside his uncle on the MCU Fandom.

Finally, Kevin Fiege said after the announcement (as per an archived article by IndieWire in 2015) was made that Spider-Man would be joining the MCU hence prior to the mention of Miles Morales, that the character wouldn’t appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the foreseeable future. However, that was six years ago. Things have drastically changed since then. There is also a lot more diversity in the MCU than there was at the time of this article.

T’Challa (RIP Chadwick), Shuri, The Dora Milaje, Sam Wilson Queen Mother Ramonda, T’Chaka,  Monica and Maria Rambeau, Nakia and Michelle Jones are perfect representations for characters of color. It would be really nice if there was a transfer of power or a passing of the torch from Peter to Miles.
