Hawkeye is going to be another Marvel Studios success on Disney Plus and here’s why. Contains spoilers for Black Widow.

Executive Vice President of Film Production at Marvel Studios, Victoria Alonso, gave fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and TV shows in general some great news when she confirmed that, along with Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye will be making its debut on Disney Plus later this year.

Fans have constantly tuned in to see Marvel Studios projects and part of the appeal of these new Disney Plus shows has been that none of them are the same. For example, WandaVision started off intentionally goofy and hilarious and then turned into a really deep look the effects of grief, while The Falcon and the Winter Soldier had more of an MCU movie feel with all the action. Hawkeye will be no different as we’ll get something new in this series as well.

Need more of a reason to get interested? Here are five more things to get you anticipating Hawkeye’s release.

Kate Bishop becomes Hawkeye

One thing every Marvel Studios Disney Plus project has in common is the fact that they introduce new characters into the MCU. WandaVision gave us Agatha Harkness and adult Monica Rambeau while The Falcon and the Winter Soldier introduced John Walker. The same thing will happen here as well. The title Hawkeye does mean we’re getting Clint Barton, but he isn’t the archer that you should be looking forward to seeing. No, Kate Bishop is the one you should be looking for.

Kate Bishop made her first appearance in 2005 in Young Avengers. She was good there, but she really started to come into her own during Kieron Gillen’s Young Avengers. She then continued to evolve in the Matt Fraction Hawkeye run. All of this built her character, showcasing her big and humorous personality. Since then, Kate Bishop has grown into a phenomenal solo character and led the West Coast Avengers. Some people even look at her as the better Hawkeye.

With Hailee Steinfeld bringing the character to the MCU, you can bet fans are excited for her arrival.
