The Suicide Squad isn’t just a movie for comic book fans. Every movie lover should check it out and here’s why.

The first Suicide Squad movie was met with bad reviews and harsh memes. Jared Leto’s Joker wasn’t good, Killer Croc was awful, and the plot was predictable. Other than that, though, it wasn’t as bad as everyone made it out to be. Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and Will Smith’s Deadshot were both incredible from start to finish. And Viola Davis will always be great regardless of what she’s in.

Now, we move on to the newest instalment The Suicide Squad, a movie that’s been met with a lot of positive reviews (and certified fresh rating from Rotten Tomatoes!) – something that doesn’t happen often for DCEU movies. Even though things are looking good, people may still be skeptical. This writer will give you four reasons why you should check it out.

Chef James Gunn

Let’s start here. James Gunn is responsible for taking a team of unknown, misfit superheroes and turning them into massive movie stars that lead a popular franchise. Without him, The Guardians of the Galaxy wouldn’t be nearly as popular as they ultimately became. Now, they’re a crucial part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s plans.

Now, let’s look at the recipe Chef James Gun is using now. He’s added a cup of comic book characters that are known, a sprinkle of pop culture favorites like Nathan Fillion and John Cena, a dash of Sylvester Stallone as King Shark and you stir it in the perfection pot that is Idris Elba and Margot Robbie. Let that cook for a year and you have an almost-guaranteed win.
