This Thursday, The Suicide Squad is released in movie theaters. The tenth movie in the DC Extended Universe (eleventh counting Zack Snyder’s Justice League), it brings DC’s most famous band of misfits and antiheroes back for another wacky adventure.
Directed by James Gunn, the movie is a completely different style of offering than the 2016 Suicide Squad which featured a number of the same cast members, including Margot Robbie and Viola Davis. While that movie opted for the tired old beam-in-the-sky superhero movie approach, this one is marketed as more of an adult, violent and hilarious romp.
The film is set to hit movie theaters very soon and fans are excited. However, if you’re not quite ready to return to cinemas just yet, The Suicide Squad will also be available to US fans on HBO Max. That way, you can enjoy the movie and see what Harley Quinn, Amanda Waller, Bloodsport, King Shark, Peacemaker, Polka Dot Man, Rick Flag, Captain Boomerang and the rest of the squad get up to from the comfort of your own home.
How to watch The Suicide Squad online
The Suicide Squad will be available to stream on HBO Max from August 5, 2021. It will be uploaded to the content library and available to stream from 4:01 p.m. PT and 7:01 p.m. ET.
Adding it to the streaming service was a decision met with praise by many as it means that fans in the US will be able to enjoy it from the comfort of their own homes if they wish to.
