Titans season 3: Is Alan Ritchson leaving the show?
DC’s Titans season 3 has finally arrived, but will it have one less bird to save the day? Is Alan Ritchson leaving?
HBO Max officially welcomed DC’s Titans into its fold this week with the show’s season 3 premiere. It also pleased fans by unveiling the first three episodes of the new season at once in a special triple premiere.
Those three opening episodes will undoubtedly leave viewers with a lot of questions. From its hard-hitting adaptation of Batman: A Death In The Family to the debut of Red Hood, there is much to dissect in that three-part premiere.

But the question at the top of that list will undoubtedly revolve around Hank Hall a.k.a. Hawk. and actor Alan Ritchson who plays him.
The third episode of Titans season 3 saw Hawk find himself in a situation that seemed pretty bleak, with former teammate and friend Jason Todd strapping a bomb to his chest – one that was rigged to explode after a certain amount of Hawk’s own heartbeats. Unfortunately, it went off after Dawn pulled the trigger of a gun that Jason had secretly rigged to detonate the bomb, apparently killing Hank in the process.
Is Alan Ritchson leaving Titans and when will he return?
Alan Ritchson recently landed the lead role in Amazon’s Jack Reacher series so it does seem like this is the end for Hawk on Titans.
While he didn’t outright confirm any kind of departure at the time of the announcement, fans speculated that he would inevitably have to leave one of his series regular jobs.
However, Ritchson was billed as a series regular for the episodes of Titans season 3 that he appeared in and Hank was featured in all of the promotional material for the season, so there is a strong chance that he will appear in more episodes, particularly if the show chooses to tackle any flashback narratives this season.
Is Hawk really dead on Titans season 3?
It’s hard to deny that Hawk’s apparent death in Titans season 3 wasn’t pretty final. “Hank & Dove” put a great deal of effort into developing the stakes just to highlight how huge of a twist it would be if it decided to go there. And go there it did.
There is always a chance that he could return given that we’re literally talking about a season in which Jason Todd came back to life in just one episode, but if Hank does return at this stage, it will likely be in flashbacks.
Then again, anything can happen on Titans.
New episodes of Titans season 3 debut Thursdays on HBO Max.
