2. What if…? Earth and Asgard

One of the only complaints about this perfect episode is a question that a lot of us want answered. Is T’Challa worthy of Mjilnor? In Avengers: Age of Ultron, the Avengers took turns trying to lift Thor’s hammer. In the end, the only person who came close was Steve Rogers. In Avengers: Endgame, we actually saw Steve lift and use Thor’s hammer.

However, fans have long wondered if T’Challa could wield Mjolnir and Endgame could have given us that answer but he never picked the hammer up.

In the MCU, there’s not much of a difference in terms of personality with T’Challa and Steve Rogers. In What if…? T’Challa proved to be the most noble and selfless being in the universe. Granted, it takes more than that to be worthy. Nevertheless, T’Challa had all of the other qualities to be worthy.

It would have been a nice tribute for Chadwick Boseman’s last MCU project to feature T’Challa using Mjolnir. However, as we saw, he didn’t need it.

1. What if…? Peter Quill

It’s a safe guess that viewers wanted to know what happened to Peter Quill after Yondu and the Ravagers took T’Challa instead. If he wasn’t captured by Yondu, then what was his fate? The end of What If…?‘s second episode showed us exactly what it was.

Ego appeared at Peter’s place of work as Uatu claims that T’Challa becoming Star-Lord puts the universe in jeopardy. This means that Quill most likely accepts Ego’s offer.

It’s not a guarantee that Quill goes along with Ego’s plans. Just because he never became a universe-traveling space pirate, doesn’t mean that Quill didn’t have morals. He may have still been a person of honor and fought back. Except, in this universe, Quill didn’t have the Guardians of the Galaxy or his skills as a fighter.

What If…? releases new episodes on Disney+ each Wednesday.
