Superman and Lois: Where do we go from here?
By Sara Salamat
Superman and Lois’ first season finale left the show in an interesting place. Where does it go from here in season 2?
The finale for Superman & Lois gave us so many questions and so little answers, rightfully leaving Season 2 to pick up the story. With the fall of Morgan Edge and the arrival of new characters….where do we go from here?
Natalie Irons and Steel in Superman and Lois season 2
In Season 1 it was revealed that John Irons and Lois Lane had been married on a different earth and had a daughter: Natalie. On that alternate earth, Superman was a villain, and killed Lois. So, when the finale ended with John Henry Irons’ daughter, Natalie traveling from her alternate earth, to the Arrowverse‘s Earth-Prime..let’s just say this might not be the father-daughter reunion the Irons were hoping for.
With this major cliffhanger, fans are left wondering if Natalie Irons will be the newest hero considering she has been added to the show’s second season as a series regular.
If true to the comics, Natalie’s arrival really shakes things up. Because while it feels like decades ago, the characters in the current iteration of the Arrowverse think the Multiverse is gone (after the events of Crisis On Infinite Earths rewrote the multiverse). Zip. Nada. So, Natalie Irons coming back reopens doors to more heroes and villains making their way to other earths, including the main earth and timeline in Smallville in which Superman and Lois takes place.
Jordan’s Secret and Sarah
I’m wondering when Sarah will start asking questions about Jordan’s true identity. I mean, congrats on them saying the L-word to each other but I’m waiting to see how Jordan keeping his powers a secret will impact their relationship, especially when you consider that Sarah witnessed Jordan be taken, and there was no detailed explanation for her in regards to that. Another part of me was really waiting for a possessed Jordan to show up in Smallville but perhaps exposing his secret powers might not be the way to go just yet.
But when it comes to just Jordan alone, I do hope to see more development with his powers. I’d love to see him and Natalie Irons fight side by side in the sophomore season.
Superman and his Vulnerabilities
Yes you read that right. Now we know that it’s pretty difficult to make Superman vulnerable on a physical level. His physical weakness is Kryptonite; his mental weakness, however? His family. By that I mean I don’t think I’ve ever seen Superman truly scared and truly worried ever like we did in the finale of Superman and Lois this week. There was a moment in “Last Sons of Krypton” where Clark really didn’t even know where to look for his son, showcasing how helpless the Man of Steel felt.
The more people learn about the Kent family, the more they becoming a walking target. And with the multiverse becoming more and more of a major plot factor, he is unknowingly open for more attacks. Are more coming their way in season 2?
