These are the times that Tom Holland has been relatable as Spider-Man and Peter Parker.

In most adaptations of the character, Peter Parker started off his time as Spider-Man as a high school kid. This is no different in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That makes Spidey unlike a lot of heroes because most of them have been fighting for years or came into their own during adulthood.

Peter Parker being Spider-Man is impressive. It’s even more so when you think about him doing it as a teenager. For most of us, high school is a time full of emotions and uncomfortable moments that make you want to crawl inside yourself. Now, imagine having all of this on top of being a superhero. Peter Parker did all of this. He balanced both in the MCU and had some very relatable moments to date.

Here are five examples of when Tom Holland’s Peter was relatable as a teenage Spider-Man.

Peter Parker being awkward with MJ

No matter what was going on, Peter was awkward around MJ. Even before he started to have feelings for her. MJ made it a point to say things to make him squirm in a playful way because she knew how he’d react. Despite having a thing with Liz, we all knew that Peter would eventually be with MJ but Spider-Man: Far From Home debuted, that’s where he almost became more uncomfortable because his romantic feelings came into play.

A lot of us have been around that person that we like in high school. We’ll have a plan on what to say when we see them only for some random moment to throw a wrench in everything. Peter’s secret life as Spider-Man may have been more extreme than ours, but we know what that’s like. Also, when MJ admitted that she knew Peter was Spider-Man, we can equate that to someone saying they knew we liked them.
