Marvel’s What if…? season 1, episode 3 live stream: Watch online

Marvel’s What If…? followed Captain Carter with an emotional sophomore episode that featured the final appearance of Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa. He may not have donned his Black Panther uniform, but it was nice to hear his voice.

In some ways, this T’Challa was equally as influential as his Marvel Cinematic Universe counterpart, but he wasn’t confined to just one planet. He was saving the entire universe. Making sure that no being went without the basic necessities like food and water. Possibly his most impressive accomplishment was talking Thanos out of genocide (even if he still thinks it wold have worked).

Now, we turn our attention to the third episode of the Disney Plus series. The synopsis describes this one with a single sentence: “What If Loki presented himself to the governments of Earth as king of Asgard using all his diplomacy.” This explains the footage of Loki going in front of congress – a move that should scare everyone. Loki could charm the green off a leaf so he could easily trick congress into thinking he’s good. Or, tempt them with the offer of new weapons.

Whatever caused the ripple in time will drastically affect the Avengers as well. Among those things is the death of Tony Stark. Here, it looks like he was killed during his conversation with Nick Fury and Black Widow in Iron Man 2. Uatu says something ominous as well. It appears that whatever happened created a new hero. While he’s saying that, someone turns into the Hulk. It may still be Bruce Banner, but a different kind of Hulk than what we’ve seen in the MCU.

​​Then there’s Thor. He appears to not have his powers as he did in the first Thor movie. Yet, as we’ve seen, nothing is ever what it seems in this show. For all we know, Thor could lift the hammer this time. Or maybe he’s the one in the Destroyer Armor. We’ll have to wait and see.
