Just before they make their reappearance, it has been revealed that two villains are going to have a bigger presence in Stargirl season 3.

Just a few days after their returns were teased in the trailer for the fourth episode of the second episode of Stargirl, it has now been announced that Neil Hopkins and Joy Osmanski will be promoted to series regulars in an exclusive from Deadline.

With this announcement, it reveals that Sportsmaster and Tigress, as well as their daughter Artemis (and possibly Chesire), will play a much larger role moving forward in probably both this current second season of Stargirl and obviously the third season. This announcement also shows how far ahead the behind-the-scenes team is if Stargirl season 3 is being planned as the second season isn’t even a third of the way through airing.

As to where the show can take the characters of Sportsmaster and Tigress, that’s unclear as of right now as we haven’t even seen them in the second season yet. However, there is a good probability that Artemis will get more screen time as the season moves on, as well as in the third season. Hopefully, we get to see her come onto the side of the angels (aka the JSA), much like her most famous version from Young Justice.

It would be interesting to see her become a hero and stand in opposition to her parents and seeing her journey from the little tidbits we see of her character now to a full-blown member of the JSA. Plus, it would add another interesting family dynamic into the mix, which is what Stargirl, at its core, is all about.

At this point though, this is all just speculation as we don’t know what the Crock family is up to right now. The next time we’ll see them will be in Stargirl season 2, episode 4 which airs on Aug. 31 on The CW.
