August was full of unforgettable comic book moments.

The month of August has provided comic book fans with some fun, deep, and character defining moments. After years of not knowing who he was inside, Tim Drake came out as bisexual in Batman: Urban Legends. America Chavez’s sister was lost in a portal after looking for the titular hero in America Chavez: Made in the USA. And there’s all sorts of things going on in Krakoa as always.

These are only some of the notable things that have happened this month. Here are the other noteworthy comic book moments we saw take place in the month of August.

Janus

Comic book: Wonder Woman No. 777 and 778

Wonder Woman, Siegfried, and Ratatoskr are continuing on their journey to look for Janus – a god who can see the future and is looking to destroy the world (as villains do). After leaving the realm of the Faeries, they end up on Earth – just not Wonder Woman’s. This is an Earth where the Justice League are all women with the exception of Wonder Man who’s imprisoned for trying to commit genocide. In the end, Wonder Woman and the Justice League defeat Wonder Man and stop Janus. Unfortunately, after the defeat, Janus leaves with Deadman.

Why is this important?

Deadman can see things and go places that mortals can’t. While Janus has a weapon that can kill anything and has the ability to see the future, she’s not omniscient. If she can find out what Deadman sees, that gives her sight into new secrets of reality and the realms of the dead. Janus is the last person who needs that.

Issue No. 778 ends with Janus getting closer to her goal. A goal that saw the death of Deadman. Can he die? How does that work?
