Lucifer season 6 has made its unearthly presence felt on Netflix but is this truly the end for the death-defying DC series? Will Lucifer season 7 happen?

Lucifer has truly defied the odds. Once a stalwart of network TV, DC’s devil debuted on Fox as part of a wave of comic book TV alongside the likes of CBS’ Supergirl and Fox’s Gotham as the genre tried to find its TV footing (outside of The CW, that is). But ratings began to decline and Fox decided to cancel the show after its third season.

The Lucifans were having none of that, however, as they launched one of the most convincing fan campaigns of all time to save their show. It worked quite quickly as Netflix announced they would revive it.

The show also defied the odds throughout its time on Netflix, making it all the way to its sixth season. Yes, that’s after the streaming service initially planned for its fifth season to be its last.

But now that season 6 is here, does that mean it is now time to bid farewell to the show? Is Lucifer season 7 going to happen, or has the death-defying TV series decided it’s time to hang up its horns?

How many seasons of Lucifer are there?

There are currently six seasons of Lucifer. Three of those seasons aired on Fox while the other three of them were produced by Netflix.

How many episodes of Lucifer are there?

Before the sixth season’s arrival, there were 83 episodes of Lucifer to watch. The final season’s shortened 10-episode count brings that up to 93, meaning that it will end short of 100.

While a 100-episode count is needed for syndication purposes, that won’t really matter to Lucifer since it’s a Netflix original that will always remain on the streaming service for fans to watch whenever they want to.

Will there be a Lucifer season 7?

Unfortunately, Lucifer will not be returning for a seventh season. There have, of course, been rumors of Lucifer season 7 but it truly looks like the show that defied both cancellation and conclusion will bow out once and for all with its sixth and final season.
