Stargirl season 2: Trae Romano teases Mike’s worrying confrontation with Shiv
Stargirl season 2 has left fans worried that a dark future awaits Mike Dugan. But how convincing will Cindy Burman be when she’s pitching it to him?
DC’s Stargirl recently kicked off its second season (after a move from DC Universe to The CW) and it has wasted little time taking viewers on another enjoyable adventure. But as traditionally triumphant as season 2 has been, it has also been surprisingly dark.
A large part of the show’s new tone has to do with the focus on its new villain Eclipso, whose presence looms so large over Blue Valley that even former Injustice Society member The Shade is worried. Another cause for concern? The fact that the unhinged Cindy Burman, a.k.a. Shiv, is the one currently wielding the Black Diamond that houses the dark entity.
Now, Stargirl‘s own Mike Dugan, Trae Romano, has teased fans with what they can expect when he crosses paths with Cindy in the coming weeks.
Will Mike join the ISA in Stargirl season 2?
Cindy is determined to recruit herself a second generation of the Injustice Society of America. Though a recent attempt to manipulate Cameron Mahkent, a.k.a. Icicle 2.0., to join was unsuccessful, she also has her sights set on Stargirl’s stepbrother Mike.
Speaking to DC Comics in a new interview, Trae Romano has revealed what fans can expect from his showdown with Shiv, particularly if they should be worried about Mike. He commented:
"“They should be pretty worried, honestly. When I was first reading the script, where Mike runs into Cindy, I was a little nervous. I was like, “Mike better not die here!” Cindy is capable of a lot, especially since she has the Black Diamond. I think fans are going to be surprised by how well Mike stands up for himself. There are a few little moments where he really comes in clutch, which is fun.”"
Cindy is a pretty terrifying character so it goes without saying that all members of the Justice Society of America should take her very seriously. But will the daughter of Dragon King have a hard time recruiting Mike?
It does sound like he’ll be pretty firm in his loyalty to Pat, Courtney and the JSA but he has been feeling very left out as of late. Will Cindy manipulate that to her advantage? We’ll have to wait and see.
